GITEX Africa

GITEX Africa marked a major milestone as the first expansion of the world’s largest technology exhibition into the African continent, hosted in Marrakech, Morocco. As the flagship digital event for the region, it demanded a world-class infrastructure that embodied innovation, sustainability, and smart connectivity. ALBADDAD was selected to design and deliver the full venue setup — providing high-end modular structures, integrated climate systems, and cutting-edge materials reflecting Morocco’s vision for digital transformation and regional leadership in technology. The project represented a strategic collaboration between global innovators, governments, and enterprises to shape Africa’s technological future.

Challenge

Unlike previous projects across the Gulf, Morocco presented unique logistical and operational challenges — primarily due to material availability, customs clearance, and cross-border coordination.
ALBADDAD had to manufacture, assemble, and ship thousands of structural components from Dubai and across multiple logistics channels under strict timelines. Port congestion, documentation delays, and local sourcing limitations created added complexity.
In addition, Morocco’s regulatory requirements demanded compliance with national safety and sustainability standards — calling for adaptive strategies to maintain the pace of delivery and ensure full technical alignment with GITEX’s global image.

Our Solution

To overcome these challenges, ALBADDAD deployed its regional logistics expertise and ISO-certified management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001) to maintain seamless execution:

- Strategic Shipping & Coordination: Shipments were pre-scheduled through multiple ports to ensure simultaneous delivery of critical components.

- Adaptive Site Planning: Real-time coordination with customs and on-site engineering teams allowed dynamic workflow adjustments.

- Golden & Curve Signature Structures: Installed as architectural icons representing innovation and flexibility — combining strength, style, and sustainability.

- Sustainable Engineering Systems: Flooring, lining, and HVAC technologies were selected for reusability, reduced carbon footprint, and environmental efficiency.

- Local Workforce Integration: ALBADDAD collaborated with Moroccan partners for assembly and logistics to ensure local compliance and faster turnaround.

Outcome

Within just 62 days, ALBADDAD transformed Marrakech into a 62,000 m² technology hub, establishing the largest temporary exhibition infrastructure ever built in Morocco.
The project demonstrated ALBADDAD’s engineering excellence, resilience, and adaptability across borders. Delivered on time and in full compliance with global standards, GITEX Africa became a showcase of innovation and regional cooperation — reaffirming ALBADDAD’s position as a trusted international partner for large-scale government and tech events.
